Great News!! University of Thessaly joined the United Nations Academy Impact!

Exciting News! The University of Thessaly has officially become a participant in the United Nations Academic Impact Initiative!

I am proud to announce that the University of Thessaly has attained a significant milestone by becoming a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) initiative. This esteemed recognition positions our institution among 1,600 institutions from 156 countries, collectively dedicated to utilizing education and research to further the objectives of the United Nations and to tackle global priorities, including sustainable urban development, sustainable agriculture, resource efficiency, climate change adaptation, health, and human rights.

As a member of the United NationsAcademic Impact (UNAI), we are committed to the integration of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into all facets of our operations, including academic curricula, infrastructure, administration, and research activities. Our objective extends beyond mere alignment with these global goals; we aim to thoroughly embed them into our daily practices, fostering a campus culture that exemplifies sustainability, equity, and innovation.

Together with Professor Charalampos Billinis, the Rector of the University of Thessaly, we are dedicated to tackling the challenge of translating these global objectives into actionable strategies that produce measurable outcomes.

As we commence this journey, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all individuals who played a role in transforming this achievement into a reality. This marks the initial phase of a series of initiatives at our University aimed at supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and it will necessitate the collaborative efforts of all members of our community.
