The National Youth Meeting in Larissa 
Larissa, which was designated as the National Youth Capital 2025, hosted the largest National Meeting of Municipal Youth Councils from November 14–16, 2025.
The event, jointly organized by the Municipality of Larisa and the Municipal Youth Council, was fundamentally focused on strengthening youth participation in local democracy. Its primary goals included facilitating the exchange of best practices and the formulation of shared policy proposals. With representatives attending from dozens of Municipal Youth Councils across the country, the meeting established Larissa as an institutional hub of youth democracy.
Dr. Laspidou’s Participation
Dr. Chryssi Laspidou, Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Vice Rector for Innovation, Internationalization, Collaborations, and Digital Governance at the University of Thessaly, delivered a greeting at the official commencement of the proceedings.
Dr. Laspidou’s presence underscored the academic institution’s strong commitment to supporting initiatives that empowered the new generation and connected it with her core areas of expertise, which included: science, innovation, and sustainable development.
Through the Vice Rector’s active participation, the University of Thessaly reaffirmed its critical role as a forward-thinking entity that invested in the future, fostering dialogue between young people and key institutional, academic, and European partners.
